Uses of the Spectra Watermaker

Marine
Spectra Watermakers' first introduction was into the marine industry.  Cruising sailboats and powerboats with limited on-board resources have benefited greatly from this new technology.  A higher quality of life, a clean and secure water source, extended cruising range, power source redundancy, and gear wash down is what an energy efficient high output DC watermaker can offer.

Residential
Remote coast side and island housing developments usually suffer from lack of adequate power and poor water quality.  Typical AC watermakers used for single dwellings operate at over 100 watts per gallon or over 22 amps AC.  Not only can this be expensive, if AC power is lost, so is the water making system.  At only 12 watts per gallon and DC operated, the Spectra Watermaker can be inexpensively powered through an AC converter.  It can also run from solar and wind power generating systems.  Or even off the family car!

Spectra Land-based Pilot Project

Brackish Wells
Through out the world, during times of drought, some wells become brackish and undrinkable.  A specialized Spectra system has been developed that draws fresh water from tankfulls of brackish water leaving only a small concentrate that can easily be disposed of.  Systems can be solar powered and completely automated, even calling for help when service is needed or problems arise.

Emergency Relief
During and emergency, where the water supply has become undrinkable, the Spectra system can become a completely self-contained, portable system.  A rugged package with fold out solar panels, batteries, alternate power inputs, and automated controls with manual overrides could save lives in the aftermath of natural disasters.
